Reel Review: 2012 Daiwa Luviasreel reel review daiwa daiwa reel daiwa luvias
One of the more popular "budget" reel produced by Daiwa is their Luvias range of fishing reels. Offered in sizes from 2000 up to 6000.
The Luvias range was first introduced in 2007 as the best all-rounder reel that was offered by the company. Using the lightest and strongest material, Daiwa wanted to offer anglers a reel that was not only inexpensive to buy, but also reliable and can be used for a long time to come. Although sporting a new look for 2012, the Luvias is still made out of a composite carbon material allowing it to retain its extremely low weight which would make a remarkable difference during those long fishing days. This new material, codenamed "Zaion" is technology owned and patented by Daiwa.
Dwelling further into the reel, we find 7 ball bearings and several other damping technology used by Daiwa to reduce sound and vibrations during operation.
One thing that anglers will be happen to find out is that while the older Luvias reels were made in Thailand, this new series is actually being made in the Japan factory and thus can be truly called a "JDM" reel.
Although it will be introduced to the world in December 2012, you can actually get it today from any Fishing Buddy outlets for just a hair under S$500.
Stocks are limited so if you're keen, do drop by anyone of the Fishing Buddy outlet to get yours today!
